CATCH Outstanding High School Graduate Awards Program

Each May, The Detroit News partners with CATCH to recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of Michigan High School seniors in a variety of academic categories. Participating sponsors provide financial support for CATCH and the student in the form of scholarship assistance named after the sponsor. Sponsorships begin at $3,500.

A Prelude to CATCH's Annual Golf Classic the following day (see below), this party features a strolling dinner, an auction of coveted sports memorabilia and resort and golf getaways, and a chance to mix and mingle with a variety of Detroit's popular leaders and personalities. Tickets are available for just the party at $100 each, and are also included in all golf sponsorships.
2009 PRELUDE PARTY AUCTION ITEM HIGHLIGHTS: Weeklong stays at the Grand Del Mar resort in San Diego, the Ritz-Carlton Club in St. Thomas and a home in Ormond Beach, Florida; Three nights accommodations with dinner show and spa packages to Las Vegas resorts including Bellagio, The M Resort, Treasure Island, South Point and Las Vegas Hilton; Suites for Detroit Tigers games in August, plus Tiger tickets and an opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch; Neiman Marcus beauty packages; Golf packages at Treetops, Boyne and Shanty Creek.
Also up for bid will be sports memorabilia signed by a variety of local and national sports personalities.

The CATCH Golf Classic, voted "Michigan's Best", is attended by top executives from Detroit's leading corporations as well as many sports and media luminaries. The Golf Classic features a scramble format with a celebrity scheduled to participate with each group (fivesome), with shotgun starts at 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sponsorships, which include a foursome and Prelude Party tickets, depending on the level, range from $2,800 to $16,000.

This annual sit-down dinner has experienced tremendous growth and features the CATCH Hall of Fame induction ceremony for community leaders in recognition of their charity work.
